Vesca Partners with JCB and CARDNET to Turn Payment Terminals into Merchant Service Platforms

Vesca Partners with JCB and CARDNET to Turn Payment Terminals into Merchant Service Platforms

One device brings together payments, sales data and applications for day-to-day store operations

TOKYO, August 21, 2026 – Vesca Co., Ltd. today announced a partnership with JCB Co., Ltd. (JCB) and Japan Card Network Co., Ltd. (CARDNET) to bring Vesca’s merchant platform to merchants across Japan. Under the partnership, the companies plan to offer Vesca’s payment terminals and platform services to merchants of every size, from large chains to small and medium-sized stores. Vesca also plans to make selected terminals compatible with “tance mall”, the service platform operated by tance Inc., a CARDNET subsidiary.

For merchants, the result is one device that does more. Vesca’s Verifone terminals already accept credit cards and other cashless payments. With tance mall, the same terminal can also run applications that help merchants attract customers, reduce manual work and digitize day-to-day operations.

Why This Matters

Cashless payments have become an essential part of everyday commerce in Japan. But many day-to-day store operations remain fragmented. Sales reporting, analytics, customer acquisition and promotion tools are set up differently at almost every merchant, and connecting them to a payment terminal usually means a custom development project. The cost and time involved have made it difficult for many merchants to modernize their payment environments.

The three partners bring complementary capabilities across the payment value chain. Vesca brings payment terminals, software and platform capabilities; JCB contributes its merchant network; and CARDNET provides the transaction processing infrastructure. Combined with the services delivered through the Vesca and tance platforms, the aim is to help merchants of every size improve operational efficiency and productivity.

What Merchants Get

1. One terminal, multiple payment methods

Vesca terminals are all-in-one devices. They accept credit cards, electronic money and QR code payments. The lineup covers a wide range of store types and needs: terminals that connect to an existing POS or host system, mobile units with or without a printer, and countertop models.

2. More capabilities, without more hardware

Through tance mall, merchants can run business applications directly on Vesca terminals such as the Victa series. Instead of adding another device to the counter, merchants can add the applications they need to the same terminal they already use for payments.

tance mall is a service platform built for store operations. It covers POS, receipts compliant with Japan’s qualified invoice system, receipt advertising and more, and it runs on the device that suits the job, from payment terminals to standard tablets.

3. One dashboard for payments and sales

Credit card, electronic money and QR code activity all appear on a single screen, putting transaction history and sales management in one place.

Card transactions are reflected in real time, and staff can void transactions or process refunds directly from the dashboard.

What’s Next

Merchants in Japan are navigating staff shortages, increasingly complex store operations, a growing range of payment methods and rapidly changing customer expectations. The three companies plan to develop new solutions on top of the payment infrastructure already in the store, and expand the range of functions and services available through the platform.

Vesca also plans to expand the range of tance mall-compatible applications available on its terminals, enabling merchants to manage sales, promotions and services for international customers in one place without switching between separate systems.
